Churchill Gardens is a large 'housing estate' in Pimlico. Designed by Powell and Moya (1946-1962). It exemplifies the ideals of the 1943-4 County of London Plan, to rebuild London as a more 'efficient' city with airy blocks of flats separated by tree-filled lawns, described as 'landscaping'. The estate is now a conservation area. It is more likely to be of interest to architects than to garden designers, just as the outdoor space is more likely to be of interest to planners than to gardeners.
Churchill Gardens is on the London Gardens Walk and included in the eBook guide to the London Gardens Walk
