An early eighteenth century house (1720-40) with formal canals, avenues, walled garden and a late-eighteenth century park by William Emes. Emes made a 'Cup and Saucer' with Black Brook flowing round a curcular platform. The National Trust has restored Erddig garden using a bird's eye view of 1739 and illustrations of the nineteenth and twentieth century additions, including a parterre and a Victorian garden
