Twentieth century house and garden, designed by a landscape architect who was also Harlow New Town's architect-planner, Sir Frederick Gibberd. With careful analysis the visitor can see influences from Abstract Modernism and from the Arts and Crafts style. As with his friend Geoffrey Jellicoe, there is also a Postmodern strand. So the garden is fascinating! The planting design is very good and Lady Gibberd assembled a notable collection of modern sculpture.
