The garden has a large collection of labelled plants, specialising in rhododendrons, magnolias and Mediterranean plants. Pine Lodge Gardens also has a Pinetum, an Arboretum, a Japanese Garden and a wildflower meadow. There is also an area open park with a lake and mature oaks in the style of Capability Brown. The third element is a Japanese garden with a tea pavilion. The Gardens are home to several Champion Trees (measured by the Tree Register).

The history of the land goes back to the 1800 when the land was mined for copper and tin,there is a wealth of old trees which has been a wonderful back cloth for the garden. The garden was developed in 1976 by the previous owners and now totals 30 acres having been able to purchase more land over the years.
