One of Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe's favourites among his own design projects. The design commissioned in 1969 by Lady Anne and Captain Michael Tree. Its most famous feature is the rill garden. Water from the River Nadder runs over copper waterfalls designed to make musical sounds. There is a box-edged parterre a Camellia Walk , a canal with Arum Lilies and Chinese balconies. Jellicoe's design approach, rich in allegory and symbolism, was Postmodern - though it has no kinship with the Postmodern Style Diagram.
