A 1920s garden with pools and fountains, richly planted with camellias and rhododendrons. Alfred Barmore Maclay (1871–1944) was of Scots descent and this garden, which belonged to his winter home, is probably as close as you can ge, in Florida, to a Scots rhododendron garden. It has the recreational features you might find by a loch in Scotland - icycling, bird watching, boating, fishing, hiking, horse trails, kayaking, picnicking etc. But the overall character is more like a Mediterranean garden.
