The PowderMills is a listed eighteenth century house, situated below a large 7 acres lake used in the manufacture of gunpowder until 1872. There are 150 acres of woods, lakes and parkland with many specimen trees, adjoining the battlefield of 1066. Country trails, a nature reserve and a small organic farm producing herbs, eggs, poultry, beef and pork for the hotel.
